[Kopete] no logs are written

Hi.

I recently installed Ubuntu Edgy and started using kopete, which seems to work nicely (although it's a Gnome environment ;) )
However, apparently kopete doesn't store the chat logs. The interesting thing is, it *did* write some logs, but only for the very first time I used it, and only for ICQ and IRC. AIM is missing (but that might be because I probably didn't use it on that first try).
Those logs are stored where they should be (~/.kde/share/apps/kopete/logs).
I haven't changed my account infos since.

Any suggestion why kopete should have stopped writing logs? Is there a way to configure/enable/disable writing of logs? I am missing such an option from the menues, other messenger programs I used have it. After browsing the forum I found some info about this "History plugin", but all you can configure there is whether to show the logs or not. The plugin was enabled by default and I never touched it.
Also, as found in another thread, there is no option "View history" when right-clicking any contact. Is it not available in my version of kopete?

Oh, and why do I have kopete 0.12.3 installed when there is only 0.12.2? 8)
The installed Ubuntu package is 4:3.5.5+kopete0.12.3-0ubuntu2.2
Maybe I should try forcing to install the older-but-stable 0.12.2? But the question remains, why are there *some* logs and why did they stop being saved?

Thanks for any ideas that might help!

Cheers,
Cruncher
