Switching KDE to WINDOWS XP?

Hi I have a question. Once you install KDE, is it possible for you to switch back to Windows XP?

you probably mean:

'once you install linux, is it possible to switch back to XP?'

Depends on your installation type.
Most installations install Linux next to Windows, not over Windows.
At boot time you get a menu where you can select what you want to start: linux or XP.

So do you need to download Linux before KDE?

KDE is often included in the Linux download.
For example, kubuntu, suse, mandriva, pardus ship with KDE.

Other distributions, like fedora and ubuntu, come with an option to install KDE afterwards. Read their documentation for more information.

You allmost never need to download KDE seperatly, the Linux distributions provide a mechanism that does the download and installation of software for you.
