how to become able to type Persian(Farsi) in KDE?

Thank you for reading my post
I have KDE 3.5.5 release 45 and what i need is to be able to type Farsi (Persian) in different applications that i use .
Also it will be good if i could have something like a language bar or shortcut to allows me to easily switch between language .

Control Center -> Regional & Accessibility -> Keyboard Layout.
