konqueror - missing some piece for rendering web sites

distro = gentoo, recent kernel, 64bit applications. I've recently rebuilt my box and rather than use a kde-meta build, I've simply compiled the applications I want and use (along with their needed dependencies).

One of them is konqueror. With prior kde-meta builds, konqueror has simply worked right out of the box. Not so this time, with the individual build.

Two pictures to demonstrate.
bank2 represents a proper rendering of the page. This shot was taken with mozilla -

bank1 is the rendering I get with konqueror. What's missing? What do I need to rebuild konqueror with? -
