Upgrading KDE on Red Hat

Hello everyone. I am a Linux newbie. I tried to install Mandriva on my machine, but it wouldn't install, so I loaded Red Hat 9 instead. It has KDE 3.1, I believe and I want to upgrade it to the latest 3.5. I've tried to find information that will help me, but when I try to follow what it says, I'm obviously doing something wrong... I also tried to load apt to use the apt installer, but failed there too... so can anyone help me???

Thanks, Mitch
Thanks,
Mitch

RE: Upgrading KDE on Red Hat

RH9 is pretty old, I'd suggest to get your hands on the latest Fedora instead of breaking your complete RH9 install in order to get KDE 3.5.5.
