Two K Menu problems

Hi,

I've recently installed FC5 on a new Dell Latitude D620 laptop, and in an effort to get all of the features working the first thing I did was to let yum update everything. But from reading other forums it seems to me that this may be the crux of my problem. Any advice on getting the following matters back to a working state would be greatly appreaciated:

1, If I right-click on the K Menu button and then select "Menu Editor" nothing happens. If I run kmenuedit from the command line then everything is ok. I don't have _anything_ in the ~/.config/menus directory - is this the problem?

2, I am missing a number of submenus from the main K Menu, including the system preferences menu which is very annoying. I have noticed that if I start Gnome then it has three menus on the main panel instead of just one, and those extra menus are the very same submenus that are missing in KDE. Any clues on this?

Thanks in advance guys

Adam
