firefox + qtcurve won't load from kmenu

Hello all,
I've got this rather annoying problem concerning Firefox: When using the qtcurve theme for gtk apps, my firefox refuses to load from kmenu. I can type "firefox" into the shell, and it loads (and works perfectly with qtcurve), but when I try to load it from kmenu, I just get the bouncing globe for a few seconds, and nothing happens. I've tried several commands for the link (firefox, '/usr/bin/firefox', etc), but no matter what, it still refuses to load (unless an instance of FF has been started from the shell and is already running). It works fine with other themes, but then it doesn't blend in at all with the rest of my gui, and the font in the menu bar is white on another lighter color.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
