wish to change: character encoding, KDE default
I wish to use the default KDE character encoding for kde, kubuntu 6.06 from utf-8 to iso-8859-1, and in spite of searching for a way to do this for many hours I have not found it. In quanta, kile etc. the 'KDE default' is mentioned but I can not find the place to change this setting anywhere in 'system settings' or anywhere else for that matter. In amarok (and other programs) it is not possible for me to change the character encoding at all, so I hope that the 'KDE default' will help there. I would really appreciate some help.
And then a question: Why does this seem to be such a big problem in Linux? I think that this is handled automatically (and succesfully) in windows...?
