[kopete] Can see webcam preview, but not formally

Hey all,

I've been wrestling with my webcam (a creative Webcam Instant) for a month or so now. I've gotten the spca5xx module loaded, and can view myself in xawtv. I can also view myself in Kopete's devices tab in the "configure" menu, but whenever I try to send or recieve a webcam on my msn account, literally nothing happens--no notice in the chat window, no explosions--no nothing. I have gotten the webcam to work in aMSN, although only intermittently, and it has worked under windoze (we have a wireless network in the house.)

I love Kopete, and wouldn't want to have to jettison it in favor of my webcam working.

I'm running kopete .11.3 on KDE 3.5.4 on Debian Sarge 3.1

Hope someone can help.
