Kill Ksynaptics Touchpad Software

Good Day All . . .

My last download of fc5 updates included the Ksynaptics software. Its' icon appears in my systems tray but I do not have a touchpad and I cannot kill it. I can temporarily quit it but it keeps coming back in a new session.

The configuration area tells me that it needs some modifications to something to run but I want the opposite.

It is not in autostart.

Can anyone tell me which kde system file has the autostart for Ksynaptics.

Thanks.

Appreciate it.

RE: Kill Ksynaptics Touchpad Software

Have a look at the Control Center -> KDE Components -> System Services . It may be listed there.

Bram85:

Thanks for the reply but it is not there. That was one of the usual suspects that I tried.

Top gives me a kpsmoused that is running as root. I killed that as root and the system icon disappeared but a new session starts the software again.

Anymore suggestions?

All are appreciated.
