I installed KDE 3.5.4 in Kubuntu Dapper Drake today, the first day it was released, and almost everything seems to be working well. I especially appreciate the improved USB device support. One problem I have, though, is that open applications are not displayed on the taskbar. I have checked the panel configuration, and they should be showing up. All icons for applets and quick-launch applications that I have selected to be displayed appear on the panel as they should. I have logged out and logged back in to restart KDE, and I have rebooted, but still no applications in the toolbar. Is this a bug? Anyone have suggestions about what the problem might be or how I might fix it? It is a bit inconvenient to have to middle click on an empty space on the desktop to see the windows that should be displayed on the taskbar.
Tom
Edit:
I have, on closer examination of the available applets, found that the taskbar is now an applet that must be added to the panel before it is enabled, so I have found the solution to my problem.
