How can I change the size of KMenu button

How can I change the size of KMenu button

Hi all, I was wondering how can I change the with size of the KMenu button, so it would look like the Linsipre's one:

I searched throught the forum and I saw that this kind of adjustment could be done throught ~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc but I didn't see where from... does anyone know how to do that?

That's not something that you could do in "normal" KDE. I'm not sure what Linspire used, but that effect can be done by using KBFX.

Yes, KBFX is very usefull, but it messed up the entries in my kmenu, so i'm waiting this to be fixed

also do a search for kickerSettings.kcfg and taskbar.kcfg for different settings that can be added to kickerrc

Would you mind if I spread this info around? Of course, credit goes to you for pointing it out.

Unfortunately, this is not exactly the same as KBFX. This just adds a text beside the K Menu icon.

This would be the instructions:

Add these lines to ~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc (if you want it to affect only your user) or /etc/kde3/kickerrc (if you want it system-wide)

Substitute Launch for whatever word you want, like Start, Programs, etc. The default is Applications.

Try checking with the KBFX web page or with KDE-Look.org

That screenshot is Linspire, and that's how Linspire's default kicker looks like.

Personally all I want to do is change the button to something simular to Linspire's button. Like the "Launch" and if I can make that minor change I would be happy.

@technoshaun: unfortunately, I don't think there's a simple way to have that button without kbfx. You could probably try what what shadowfx78 suggested, but it's not the same thing. All it does is to put a plain text beside the K Menu icon.

Can it be done, of that I'm sure but in order to do so one would have to know what file to hand configure. Or a theme would have to be used..
