kmenu: single Applications in submenu with correct Name (bug ?)

In My Standard Kde Menu on suse 10.1 the menu does not match the entries shown by kmenuedit. If there is only a single application per submenu it is show directly without the submenu and with only the application description. It should however be "name (description)"

The first is very annoing and the second a bug in my understanding.

It was the same with suse 9.3, where I tried to file this as a bug.

The anwser can be summariesed to: suse bug and their idea.

Question: Can this be configured anyhow ? Because it is very annoing to guess what kind of application is meant by each description.
