Font problem after upgrading to kde 3.5.3

Hi,

After I upgraded my entire gentoo system to kde 3.5.3 I now have, without having changed any kind of settings, all fonts that are bigger. I see applications with menus, text in kmail all bigger, kmenu bar bigger ...

What is that caused this problem? How to solved?

thank you,
Spiro

Didn't you upgrade the video card drivers as well? They seem to have effect on the font size.

Yes, indeed.

I currently run media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.8762

Could it be that the nvidia driver is causing this issue? Should I bump up the video driver version?

thanks,
Spiro

You could do that, or downgrade if you don't have much problems with that. Just until the fonts are fine again.

I had the same problem and I find out that the problem is caused by the file /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc . I use Kurumin Linux (a debian distro), and DPKG made a backup of this file, the only thing I needed to correct the fonts was to restore the backup ...

If you have the backup of this configuration file, your problem is solved. You could get with a friend that uses the same distro that you use.

I hope I had helped, and again, sorry for my writing errors ... Feel free to correct me by MP :P
Sorry about my writing errors, but I don't know too much english.
