Beamer on Kde

Hello,
I've got to do a presentation and I'm hoping to use a openoffice impress slide show on a beamer. I've been searching the internet to find a straightforward howto to configure a beamer on KDE but haven't found anything. I'm using a laptop with a classical vga output which I want to link to a beamer.
1. Could anyone please explain to me how to proceed?
2. If I test the procedure on a second monitor, would it then work on the beamer (I don't have access to a beamer myself and need it to work during the presentation).
Cheers,
jr

RE: Beamer on Kde

It depends on your hardware I think. I don't have any problems with beamers, just make sure it's connected when you boot Linux.

RE: Beamer on Kde

Do you mean I simply need to plug the beamer in at the startup and the output will directly be send to the beamer?
If not, how do I configure KDE so that it knows that I've got a beamer and tell it to send the output to the beamer? I went through kconfig unsuccessfuly...
