Kmenu

Hi. I'm an Ubuntu user and have been convinced to try the KDE desktop. I actually like it quite a bit as it seems a bit speedier than my other choice. One little thing that I can't quite get. The K menu ... all of the folders (graphics, internet, etc.) within the drop down are sorted alphabetically as I have it set that way. However, all of the actual applications within the folders are not sorted at all and seem to be placed in order of how they were installed. I went into the k menu editor and manually sorted each one but this is quite a pain. Is there no way to have the actual applications stay sorted alphabetically?? I checked the option for this but it only seems to affect the folders not the apps within them.

RE: Kmenu

No, the order is defined in ~/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu . Newly installed applications simply put their entry somewhere in the XML and don't care about sorting.

I couldn't find a solution to keep them sorted. Maybe a script which sorts the file I just mentioned, but that's probably too much work :/
