window too big, how do I change?
I'm trying to create a KDE bootsplash screen. The window that pops up Extends below my screen and I can't resize it, so I can't get to where I presume the apply button would be. My screen is already at 1024 x 768, so I can't make things smaller. Any thoughts?
BTW: Mandriva 2006 with KDE 3.4.2
RE: window too big, how do I change?
Programmatically, QWidget::resize(), perhaps also setMinimumSize() and similar. With a window manager, you can use alt+mouse to drag windows around so you can reach the edge of the too-big window.
You might want to copy an existing bootsplash and change that in small steps so you know what causes the bad resizing.
thanks, the alt+mouse worked.
now, I've made a boot theme with the kde wizard. what type of file did that create, and where do I find it to share with othres?
no idea, what app do you use for making a splash screen?

Usually it's not one file, but just a bunch of them. You put them in a folder in ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/<mytheme>. Then it will appear in the splash configuration in the KDE Control Center.
and where do I find it to share with othres?
