All KDE Components Missing

I have been using KDE 3.5 since it's official release (running on Suse 10.0). The other day I must have bumped some keyboard shortcut or something. My KDE display no longer shows title bars, panels, menus, or the desktop.

When I log-in to a session, the desktop doesn't seem to load. My windows appear on top of the standard Suse log-in screen background. One SuperKaramba theme loads and it's transparency appears to be sitting on what would be the desktop background.

The windows that I had open from the previous session will still open when I restart, but they have no title bars (titles, minimize/maximize/close buttons, etc). They also have no chrome around there edges where I might grab to re-size the window. I can right-click in the window and get a whatever the normal context menu is.

Right-clicking on the desktop does nothing. Attempts at ANY keyboard short-cuts do nothing (I can't switch desktops, can't open a k-menu, etc.).

The same issues arise whether I'm logged in as root or my normal user.

If I load Gnome, it all works fine, so I'm pretty sure this is a KDE issue. I can't find any forum posts or anything of people having a similar problem, though.

Anyone have thoughts?

Solution

In case anyone encounters this problem...

The same thing happened on my second computer. Both had been recently updated with a kdelibs patch from Suse. This seems to be the problem. I reverted to the kdelibs version from the OpenSuse 10.0 installation CDs and the problem is resolved.
