Kopete crashes on message (aim)

Kopete crashes on message (aim)

I am using Gentoo.
I just emerged kopete and set up my aim account.
As soon as I send or receive text through a chat window, it knocks me off aim and says

An unknown error has occurred and the connection has been closed.

Then, it crashes, and gives this message:

The application Kopete (kopete) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

I wanted to send a bugreport but when I click Backtrace it says
Code:
Could not generate a backtrace as the debugger 'gdb' was not found.

Is gdb something I can emerge?
