remove icon from desktop

I'm new to KDE and have set up my desktop pretty much the way I want it except for one thing -- there is a cdrecord icon (looks like a CD) on the desktop that I can't remove. Right-clicking I only get Open/Copy/Encrypt/Properties, but no "delete." Dragging it to the trashcan gets a "could not mount device" error message. I like my desktop clean, and there's this useless icon that I can't get rid of -- anyone give me some tips?

Thanks, raharris

Check which device icons you permit on your desktop..

Righ click desktop -> Configure Desktop -> Behavior -> Device Icons

HTH
-- rm -fr /etc/whitehouse
-- Gentoo | udev | Xorg 6.8.2 | 2.6.14-r4 | KDE 3.5.0
