Help hiding window from taskbar, but not its children

I'm trying to get my IM client, Kopete, to not show its buddy list on the taskbar. I figured out how to do that with Window-Specific settings. (Right-click title bar, Configure Window Behavior, Window-Specific Settings) It works great, except for the fact that it also hides my chat windows from the taskbar. I've been fiddling with the various settings in there for about half an hour now, and I can't figure out how to get it to exclude child windows, or maybe recognize the parent window by its title. Can anyone tell me how, or is there no way to do this?

I'm still using KDE 3.3.2 and Kopete 0.9.2, and I know there's newer versions out. I will try upgrading if needed.

Is this really the right forum for this? If not, sorry, please move it.
