[KMAIL] System tray icon shows up with no unread mail
Hi.
I am wondering if anyone can help me with this. I enabled the feature in KMail that lets it sit in the KDE system tray. Under the "System Tray Mode" are two choices: (1) Alway show KMail in system tray, and (2) Only show KMail in system tray if there are unread messages.
I selected (2). However, once I close the KMail main window, the icon shows up in the system tray whether or not I have unread messages in my mailboxes. This is a minor nuisance, but it still bothers me as I don't want to open KMail just to check for new messages.
Does this feature actually work? Or am I doing something wrong?
I am using KMail 1.8.2 w/ KDE 3.4.2.
TIA,
Dai

My guess is that if you close the main window, it has to add itself to the tray otherwise you would have no way to get it back.

Ah, I see. That makes sense.
I've also found that when there's new mail, the system tray icon will show the number of the new messages. Not nearly as inconvenient as I was afraid.
