KDE screwing up title bar and buttons.

Hi guys. I love KDE I have been with it since 2.2 I believe was the version.

Anyway I am having a problem on my laptop a Sony Vaio PCG-FX150K which loads up using the i810 video driver. Anyway I know this does it on multiple distros Gentoo, knoppix, mepis, and pclinuxos so I know the problem is not the distribution. I also know that is happens currently on KDE 3.4.2 but I believe it also happened to me in the 3.3 series. Not sure when I first installed KDE on my laptop. The current setup is Mepis 3.3.1 with KDE 3.4.2 upgrade from the Debian unstable repository.

The problem I am having is that I get bands of missing title bar and buttons. It like if you made a picture of the title bar and or buttons and cut them up into pieces and spread them out with a small 2mm gap between them.

I am using Xfree86 4.3.0 but I know it does the same thing in Xorg. I do not know what other information would be needed to figure this out and I don't know where to begin to fix it can someone please help?

RE: KDE screwing up title bar and buttons.

On older Intel video chips (older than the i845 i think) this does happen to those window decorations that use alpha transparency. On those computers, I usually set it up using the MS Windows 9x theme (I know, but it is a clean looking theme), which does not use transparency.
