Compiling on Fedora Core 4

Hi guys.
I did search for answers on this but search appears to be broken :-(

Anyway, how do I compile KDE 342 on Fedora Core 4? Configure complains about having GCC 4 installed; I have the FC compatibility libraries on there also.
