[kopete] not showing messages

I am using kopete 0.10 on a SUSE 9.3 System.

I just switched from Windows and yesterday I encounter something really strange. Sometimes Kopete doesn't seem to receive messages others send to me. I am connected to ICQ using login.icq.com, I can send messages and they are received, but I do not receive an answer, eventhough my chat partner sends a message. It seems to only happen after I didn't use Kopete/ the PC for a while. In another Forum I was asked to start Kopete from command line. I did so an received quite some output.
Does anyone have any clue what's wrong?
