How to clear Konqueror's location bar history

I am trying to figure out how to clear the location bar history. I right click in the location bar and click clear, then I also click empty contents. When I exit the browser and reopen the window, the history has returned. This seems to be an issue that makes Konqueror non-secure. How can I keep others from viewing the pages that I have previously logged into, and where I have been?

I even went to ./kde/share/apps/kio_http/cache/and emptied all the shortcuts, but alas, they still show up in the browser!

Arrgh!

RE: How to clear Konqueror's location bar history

To begin with the last question: you should use an account per user, and keep your password secret. Then, only you can see your history. Of course, people with root-rights can also access your history, but they can anyway.

To clear the history, there is another button "Clear history" in the configurion. Try Konqueror

ettings->Setup Konqueror->History->Clear history (note: translated, so the real text could differ).

I suspect ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/konq_history to have something to do with this.

I might be pushing it here but where is the ~/.kde directory? I know where / is but not ~/.

~/ is a form to write "user's home directory"

~ is used in shells as a shortcut/alias for that special directory.

~/.kde directory means the .kde directory in your home directory, i.e. the path

#> kde-config --localprefix
returns
