Kontact driving me nuts!

I've recently upgraded from SUSE 9.2 to 9.3 which includes KDE 3.4.
Prior to the upgrade Kontact worked no problem. Now I cannot get it to accurately set recurring appointments.
I type everything in correctly, set the recur feature and a variety of things can then happen:
either the recurring appointment is set to an incorrect date which for some bizarre reason is either one or two days before the actual date I set or
it doesn't set the appointment at all till I restart Kontact, even then the date is wrong or
it doesn't set the recur feature, just a single entry or
it doesn't set the appointment at all period!
There doesn't seem to be any way that I can find to resolve this.
It really is driving me nuts. Kontact worked perfectly prior to upgrading to 3.4.
