kmix at the sturtup!And control center...

Hello! I try to disable the load of kmix at kde 3.4 startup, I tryed in different ways but everytime kmix appeares!
Then... I think there's some problem with my sound card and drivers... In kde everything work perfectly but when I try to listen preview of sound notification from the kde control center, no sound I can listen, why? From konquerror I can't listen the music from urls....instead with firefox I can using noauton helper...
Why? How can I see propreties of my sound card better? There is writen in kmix that I'm using alsa and oss + oss drivers but when I start alsaconf from terminal alsa can't see my sound card...
I have an ESS MAESTRO 3 compilated from the kernel 2.4.30-
