KDE3.4 installation fails for "saslauthd"

I'm trying to install KDE3.4 on Mandrake 2005 LE using konstruct and gets the following error:

configure: error: changes in the environment can compromise the build
configure: error: run `make distclean' and/or `rm .././config.cache' and start over
configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for saslauthd
make[1]: *** [configure-work/cyrus-sasl-2.1.20/configure] Fel 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/fredrik/konstruct/libs/cyrus-sasl'
make: *** [dep-../../libs/cyrus-sasl] Fel 2

I have'nt been able to find a solition for this. Anyone with an idea of what to do?
