Desktop trashcan change...
Hi... Nice forum for a nix n00b..
Me included!!
Anyway... How can I change the default trashbin iconset on KDE desktop in Mandrake 10.1? Not that I mind crystal... But it just doesn't go with the rest of my setup.. Aanyone?
RE: Desktop trashcan change...
Just right-click on it, choose "Properties" and then click on the icon.
Hmmm No option to change the icon.. Or do I need to log in as root?
Just click on that big button with trash can icon.
I know what you mean about the big button..
But mine isn't a button... It's just an image..
Hmmmmm.......
Which KDE version do you use? You could try to alter the ~/Desktop/trash.desktop file (esp. the Icon and EmptyIcon entries).
Nope it won't work that way either.. All I get is an image in the properties dialog...
:sigh:
Thanks for the help... Got it sorted..
as root go to /usr/share/icons and if you use crystal or other iconset you'll see directories named "crystal" "nuvola" etc, go into the crystal or nuvola directory and go into filesystems and change as you want the trash and trashcan icons with the icons you like
Bye
