what's wrong with my KDE icons?

what's wrong with my KDE icons?

I am running a Debian Sarge on SUN box.
After installed KDE, all the icons in the panel looks the same --the gear. And most of them don't work. Please see the attachment
can someone help?

Maybe the programs those icons refer to are not installed.
