KDE 3.4 Install with Konstruct

Hi there looking for some help.

Downloaded Konstruct to my home folder, and did the following:

cd /home/name/konstruct/meta/kde
make install

This took 12 hours?? (Is this normal)

any way I now have 2 folders
/home/name/kde3.4 = 650MB
/home/name/konstruct = 1.9GB

But Im not sure what I have to do next I have typed the bash command in to shell but still no joy can anyone lend some advice

12 hours for a complete KDE compilation is rather fast.
On my Pentium II 266 MHz, it takes a day or 2 for a base KDE, no games, no education packages etc...

Unfortunatly, gcc isn't the fastest compiler.



And what command did you type? What do you mean with that?
Do you want to start this new KDE version?

Sorry to be a little vacant, after the install according to readme you have to type:

export QTDIR=~/konstruct
export KDEDIR=~/konstruct
export KDEDIRS=~/konstruct
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/konstruct/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export PATH=~/konstruct/bin:$PATH

Yes I would like it to start up with the new version of KDE 3.4
