problem with language setting

problem with language setting

I successfully installed kde 3.4 yesterday using konstrukt (2;6.3-7MDKcustom kernel on an i686). Everything works fine apart language setting. The locale allows me to choose my country (Morocco) but the language list is limited to US English. Building the fr.message.mo in $KDEHOME/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGE did not help. Where do KDE grab for the language list ?
