Raki does not function properly

After lots of work, I was able to connect my iPaq with Kubuntu. A new problem I face now is the things that I cannot do with Raki.

1. I accidentally chose dccm instead of vdccm. I Reinstalled Raki, but I still did not have the chance to see the pop-up that asks me to choose between dccm and vdccm. Now, I cannot switch to vdccm.

2. I cannot sync using Raki even if I have installed syncekonnector.

3. I cannot view images and play audio streams from rapip://active_connection/

4. After running KCeMirror from the Raki active_connection menu, KCeMirror does not start.

5. Raki cannot start dccm for some reason.

Please help me solve my problems.

Thanks.

RE: Raki does not function properly

Did you ever get a reply to this?
I've the same issue - SynCE and RAKI both connecting fine (I've even used SynceFS and Unison to sync files and folders on the PDA).

I've even got Multisync syncing with Evolution. But I'm fed up with Evolution adn want to use Kontact, but won't until I can sync contacts.

According to various HOWTOs, I should have sync options in the context menu when I'm running RAKI. But they're not there.

Likewise, I don't have KCEMirror - it's greyed out on the context menu from RAKI.

Any ideas anyone?

RE: Raki does not function properly

Wow. We replied to the same bug report.

I still have no solution to this. The best that I have done was to use Evolution's task and calendar resources on Kontact so the PIM data on my Pocket PC can be viewed on Kontact since I can sync with Evolution. It's just that, I cannot properly edit Evolutions PIM resources on Kontact because whenever I attempt to do so, the PIM data gets messed up.

Got the answer, but it doesn't quite get me as far as I'd hoped.

Instead of running simple dccm or vdccm, run
vdccm -d 3 -f -p secret
I think it may need starting before running RAKI, and then RAKI somehow works when it does its own dccm thing.

I've no idea what these switches are, but it got RAKI properly detecting my PDA.

Problem is that it then couldn't do anything more than sync contacts.
If you tried to get it to sync calendar or todos, it crashed.

I'm pursuing an Opensync solution. But although I've got it installed and looking very very promising indeed, it isn't yet actually writing any changes to either end of th sync!

Cheers

Hmmm... For some reason, I managed to sync my contacts with the simple vdccm.

Good luck with OpenSync. I myself gave up already. I have been working on that since Feisty came out. Please tell me if you manage to make OpenSync work.

I hope, syncing works well on Kubuntu Gutsy. As I saw in ubuntu.com, Kubuntu Gutsy Tribe 5 is shipped with OpenSync already. I am just waiting for the stable Gutsy.

Cheers.
