Last week I compiled and installed kde-3.5.7 on my BLFS system.

Soon after the installation I started noticing this weird behaviour in all of the windows and menus. Some of the letters on the interface and menus appear highlighted ! I couldn't understand why. I thought it might have to do with the theme having become incompatible with 3.5.7. So, I selected another theme and applied it. This seemingly solved the problem on some of the apps.

I still see this weird highlighting on KDevelep. I have attached a screenshot. You can see it on the staus bar (where the line number is displayed) and on the Build menu as well.

Any idea what might be causing this and how I can get around this problem ?
