RE: Different Icons For different removable media??

You could right click an icon of the device and select Properties. Click on the button with the icon so you can change it.
When you want to replace all occurrences of this icon (for all users), I'd suggest you replace the corresponding *.png file in `kde-config --prefix`/share/icons.

thanks but i have tried that, i suppose i wasnt clear as to what i had already tried. The problem with what you had sugested is that it changes the icon for all usb removable media. I want to be able to distinguish between usb devices by their icons. I have created links to locations, given them the apropraite icons and added them to my apllication buttons panel for now but id still like for them to disapear/appear automatically when i plug something in (like in media panel applet). plus when i go into my computer the icons are obviously still whatever i have set for usb removable media devices. Using the links to locations will do for now but if anyone can help me get it working how i want let me know thanks.
