Drawing wave form

Hi,

I'd like to make a small panel applet that monitors audio output (PCM) from aRts or directly the sound hardware. I know how to make Kicker applets but i don't know how to get the values of the audio output. Can anyone help ? (sorry if this post is not to be in this forum).

You can check the sources of artscontrol as it displays arts master volume.
