Hi. I've just installed KOffice 1.3 (from source) on a Fedora Core 1 machine.

The installation went fairly well. I had a large number of warnings about linkages to libraries not being portable (or similar), but otherwise OK. I have all the components in /usr/local/kde/bin, and put this in my path.

But, when I try to run any of the components, nothing happens. No error message, no nothing. No visible process when I do a "ps -u ....". The one exception is koshell. That brings up a suspiciously blank and empty looking frame, which can be seen at:

If I try to make a new document, I get a dialog with "Object" and "Comment", but the list is empty, and "OK" is greyed out.

Any hints as to what might have gone wrong?

Hi.

Erm, I was running the application from the terminal window. No output or error messages are produced. The command returns immediately with no output, and no error message.
